A
Smart Site for Today's Smart Phones
Your mobile ready website!
Are
you paying extra to a 3rd party for a "mobile app" or
other "mobile search"?
Your website
product is already 100% mobile ready, so why pay for a service
you already have! Visitors to your site using a smart phone should
automatically be directed to your mobile home page, where they
have all the great functionality of your full website. Visitors
have a variety of search options, including a "GPS"
search, which allows them to find homes near their current phone
locations. Additionally, they can continue to take advantage of
any features they are using on your full site, by logging in to
see their saved searches or properties.
If you would
like to preview the look and functionality of your mobile site,
you don't need a smart phone, however. You can just type an "m"
and a dot in front of your domain name in a regular computer web
brower to see your mobile site. For example: www.MySiteName.com
would become m.MySiteName.com. For
agents without their own domain name, an example would be: AgentName.MyOfficeSiteName.com
would become m.AgentName.MyOfficeSiteName.com.
Just put the letter "m" and a dot before your domain.
What
are QR-Codes and how can I take advantage of them?
A QR code
(short for Quick Response) is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional
code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones.
The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern
on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL
or other data.
If
you're familiar with the UNO feature of your website, where each
listing has it's one direct URL, then perhaps you can already
envision how adding a QR code to your yard sign, flyer, or other
advertisement might be useful! Buyers with a smartphone can scan
the QR code and be reading the listing details on your website
in a matter of moments!
This website:
http://qrcode.kaywa.com/
offers a free method to generate QR codes quickly and provides
a pernament link to your generated code as well as the ability
to right-click and save your image for use in a document. Visit
that site now and try creating your own URL direct to one of your
listings. Simply use your mobile domain name, a forward slash,
and a valid MLS listing number. For example: m.MyDomain.com/1234567
Additionally,
a QR code direct to your website might be a great addition to
the back of the next box of business cards you order!
